Just like windows 7, this windows it offer the user the option of having a clean installation or upgrading from the previous version. It allows one to choose the desired option. It all begins with happiness after upgrading the personal computer to windows 8, but later one may start experiencing some problems during the installation or after completion of installation.

Black/Blank Screen after Installation:

Among major problems faced by computer users after installation of windows 8 is the blank screen. Many of them are left wondering what might have gone wrong since the installation was successful. It has been noted that the installation of Windows 8 goes well without a problem and the blank screen only appear afterwards. The computer user might not have an idea of the procedure they have skipped. When one is faced with the problem of the blank screen, they could get assistance from windows 8 support. One can also apply the following steps to fix this problem. The problem can be solved by creating a bootable DVD or USB and then try installing it. In case it does not fix the problem, make changes to the settings of the computer BIOS by making it play and plug operating system enabled. Ensure that the security software like the firewall and antivirus are disabled.

Missing Important Driver or Files:

It is common to receive an error message of being the installation process being unable to take place because there are missing drivers and the error requests the BIOS to be entered during or after the installation process. The problem is mainly during the selection of the disk to install the OS. The problem can be solved by holding on the Alt key on hearing a beep when the computer is rebooting. The key should be held until a whirling gear is seen and then the OS is selected as the start up drive. The method is only applicable when installing windows 8 on MacBook air.

Failed Upgrade

The problem of failed upgrade is usually attributed to several things. The user should ensure that their computer meets minimum requirement for their system to hold windows 8. The antivirus and firewall should be disabled to allow the upgrade to go smoothly. The Internet connection should be strong enough to complete the installation process. A valid license key of the OS should also be available. When using the touch functionality, one should ensure that their computer is able to support the multi-touch.
When facing problems with upgrading windows 8, it is advisable to have a clean installation. If the problem persists, the user can seek expert help from the windows 8 support. After solving the above problems, Windows 8 will allow you to explore your computer world.

Hack any computer with an ip (MetaSploit)

Hack any computer with an ip (MetaSploit)
I am here to show you this magical tool called metasploit that allows you to hack anyunpatched computer with only its IP .Lets begin

1) First you need to download metaSploit . The most up-to-date version is free at metasploit.com
2) you need Postgrsql for your database . Download from this link,
http://adf.ly/Fg7U2
Make sure you use all the defaults or metasploit woun't work!

3) now lets go down to business... After installing both tools, open up the PostgrSQL admin gui (start -> all
programs -> PostgreSQL 9.0 -> pgadmin III). then right-click on your server (in the left hand box) and click connect . Remember to keep this window open the whole time. you will also need the pass you chose to use in step 5...

4) time for some hacking! Go to start -> all programs -> Metasploit framework , and then open the metasploit gui. Let it load untill it look like this:

5) Now , in the window type:
db_connect postgres: ThePassyouChose@localhost : 5432
The first time you do this you will see lots of text flash buy. Don't wory. this is normal.

6) Type db_host to make sure you are connect correctallly.
7) Now type this:
db_nmap 000.000.000.000
Make sure you put the ip of the computer you are trying to hack in the place of 000.000.000.000...

8) Now we get to the fun part; the automatic exploitation , Just type db_autopwn -t -p -e -s -b , watch the auto-exploitation start, go play halo for a while, andthen come back...

9) After th exploitation is done, type sessions -1 to see what the scanner found. If all went, you should see a list of exploits.
10) Now we get to use the exploits to hack the computer!!! if you will notice, all of the exploits are numbered , and they all have obvious names (i.e. , reverseScreen_tcp). In order to use an exploit , type this:
sessions-i ExploitNumber

The features of Metasploit are much like a rat. once you get into someone's computer , you can see their screen, controll their mouse, see what they type , see them, etc,,,,,,

Some Tips for Intelligent Browsing

Some Tips for Intelligent Browsing

1:Browse intelligently. Internet is a web of networks. Hence the system is always prone to virus attacks. Do not visit sites that might be a source of malicious software.
2:Be careful when going for free software downloads as most of them may contain spyware.
3:Maintain secure browser settings every time you access your system. Nowadays, every browser gives users the convenience to adjust browser security settings. Go to Tools and access the security tab to alter browser settings if needed. You may also adjust the settings such that cookies get stored only for secure websites.
4:Firewalls are a must for your system when it comes to network security. However nowadays, Apple's MAC OS and Windows XP have inbuilt firewall programs.
5:Read online license agreements, privacy statements and security warnings before you download any software. Agreeing under sheer carelessness and ignorance can invite malware. In such cases, consult IT service center or make use of a search engine to check if any form of malware has been reported for the software you want to download. These measures will prevent your system from getting infected with spyware carriers like Kazaa and Grokster.
6:Do not open unsolicited email attachments containing word documents and Powerpoint presentations. These are gateways to install virus in your system. Also, be cautious while clicking on online messages claiming to alert you about your system security risk. Most of the time, they are links for installation of spyware.
7:Spyware threat is obvious in case of peer-to-peer file-sharing services. So it is advised not to download any executable files from such shared connections.
8:Last but not the least, update antivirus and firewall software regularly. Most of them today are self programmed to update themselves after a specific duration.

Computer Virus Definition... Viruses & How They Affect Us

What are viruses? Well, usually, 'computer virus definition' is used as the collective name for various types of viruses, worms and Trojan horses.

Computer viruses are just like death and taxes... if we own a PC, we WILL be infected... unless we have the best antivirus software installed.A common misconception is that worms and Trojan horse applications are viruses, but they aren't. We'll cover what each are and their differences, as follows...

  1. What are viruses and worms?
  2. What is a Trojan horse?

1. Computer Virus Definition...
What Are Viruses and Worms?

A virus is a man-made computer program that infects a file or program on our computers. Each time the infected program is run, the virus is also triggered. It replicates or spreads itself by infecting other programs on the same computer.
The explanation from Netlingo.com is typical of a computer virus definition...
"A computer program that replicates on computer systems by incorporating itself into shared programs. Viruses range from harmless pranks that merely display an annoying message to programs that can destroy files or disable a computer altogether. Whether they're considered malicious or malevolent, all viruses spread rapidly. For example, from one computer to millions of others around the world, infecting machines and causing them to crash."
A worm is also a man-made program that replicates itself. However, unlike a virus, it does not infect other program files on the computer. Instead, a worm can spread itself automatically to other computers. Cleverly, it does this by sending a copy of itself through email, over a network and via Internet Relay Chat (IRC) to other computers.
There are thousands of different kinds of viruses but they form distinct groups. They all operate differently and affect our computers and the information contained on them in different ways.
The table you see below gives you a feel for some of the types of viruses...

The Types of Viruses

Virus Type
What It Does
How Affects Our PC

  Program or File Virus
Infects executables (other programs, with affixes such as EXE, BIN, COM, SYS)
Destroys or alters programs and data.
Boot sector Virus
Infects boot sectors on hard and floppy disks
Destroys or alters programs and data.
Multipartite Virus
A hybrid of a program and boot sector virus
Destroys or alters programs and data.
Macro VirusTriggers on a command in  Microsoft OfficeCommonly affects Word & Excel
  Stealth Virus
Uses various tactics to avoid detection.
Destroys or alters programs and data.

Polymorphic Virus

Uses encryption to foil detection, so that it appears differently in each infection.
Destroys or alters programs and data.

Computer Virus Definition...
How We Get Infected and The Effects

Viruses and worms can infect network servers, desktop computers, laptops, tablets and mobile 'phones... they pose one of the most serious Internet security risks, reaching our PCs from email, web sites, downloaded files and loadable media, such as USBs, CD-ROMs and DVDs.
Unfortunately, the effects of an infection are pretty unpleasant. The virus or worm can,
  • Disable the computer

  • Add, modify or delete files or reformat the hard disk. A worm eats up storage space and slows down the computer, but won't alter or delete files.

  • Steal addresses held in our computer to send on virus-infected emails to our friends, colleagues, clients or customers

  • Send spam (unsolicited, bulk email) to those in our mail address books and other users

Computer Virus Definition...
How Do We Protect Ourselves?

Viruses and worms are detected and removed by antivirus software. But beware... we can still get infected if we haven't got a top performing AV program or haven't updated our virus definitions.
For more information on antivirus software, see Computer Virus Definition: The Best Antivirus Programs
You'll see from this article that you need one of these three AV software products...
OR, if you prefer an Internet Security Suite, then one of these two, of equal performance, will fit perfectly...

2. Computer Virus Definition...
What Is A Trojan Horse?

Although Trojan horse programs are categorized as viruses, they are not true viruses, since they do not replicate. It is a malicious program disguised as something benign, such as a screen saver or built into a free download.
Unfortunately, Trojan Horses are often hooked on to free downloadsbacause many of us cannot resist a free offer! However, this does free downloads a dis-service, as most are genuine and malware-free
When loaded onto our machine, a Trojan horse can capture information from our system -- such as user names and passwords -- or could allow a malicious hacker to remotely control our computer. They really can do significant damage to our privacy and security, so you need software that deals effectively with this widespread and difficult-to-detect malware.

Computer Virus Definition...
How Do We Get Infected?

Trojans are one of the sneakiest of the online risks. They are often downloaded on the back of a free program (freeware) that has some value to the user -- a free game, software program or music, for instance.

How Does A Trojan Affect Us?

A Trojan installed on a computer allows that PC to be entered by any remote user that has the access code to the Trojan.
The remote attacker can enter the computer undetected when online, to access or destroy any information stored. Alternatively, the Trojan can be programmed to automatically send any information on our PCs back to the attacker. This could include,
  • Client or customer information or other business data

  • Credit card details

  • Passwords for access to your online bank, ISP or web services

  • Information we would rather remain hidden

  • Email addresses, which may be used for spamming

  • Children's names, photographs, ages or other personal details held on the computer

  • Distributed Denial of Service (DDOS) attack on other computers via the victim's computer
Yes, vicious, invisible programs that you must protect against!!

Computer Virus Definition...
Trojan Protection

Like viruses and worms, Trojans are detected and removed by AV software. However, you'll see in Which Is The Best Antivirus Program?, that there are only a few AV programs that are effective at detecting and removing Trojans.
You'll see from this article that you need one of these three AV software products...

OR, if you prefer an Internet Security Suite, then one of these two -- of equal performance -- will fit perfectly...

How Hackers Attack Through APT Entry Points

How Hackers Attack Through APT Entry Points

system+security
As business communications and data sharing becomes more sophisticated, so do attacks on sensitive data. APT's(Advanced Persistent Threats) are part of the new wave of data hacking techniques. Not only are these attacks more frequent and persistent, but APTs often evade corporate security monitoring systems by coming in through email, PDF files, familiar software and other trusted communications and business tools. It is less costly to prevent APT entry points than to extricate the threat once it’s inside your system. To secure your system, you must understand how hackers attack through APT entry points.

Types of Entry Points:

Hackers use different types of entry points depending on the security system. Email is still the most common APT attack point. Email can allow a hacker access to your data when an employee opens an attachment such as a link, a PDF file or a Microsoft Word document. Once the attachment or link is active, malware is downloaded to help the hacker infiltrate your system and obtain the desired data. Also, with the increase in mobile device usage through both corporate-issued technology and BYOD/BYOC programs, instant messaging, mobile email applications, social media freeware, social networking programs and other communications apps are increasingly used as APT entry points. Slightly less known APT points include exploitation of vulnerabilities in popular software programs. The most widely used programs, such as the Microsoft Office suite and Adobe products, are the most frequently exploited programs.

Six Steps to APT Entry:

While variances are possible, there are six steps to most APT attacks (this graphic offers more information).
  1. Gathering Intelligence: It is rare to detect an APT attack during this phase. The hacker performs external research to gain information and choose attack targets. Often free, open source portals such as social networking sites are used for research.
  2. Point of Entry Execution:  The malware is delivered through email, instant messenger, file download or software exploitation. Occasionally, the hacker uses a less traditional means of delivering malware via a direct hack of the server or website.
  3. C&C (Command and Control):  The hacker follows the malware to control and direct the search for data.
  4. Enhance Control: Once inside, the hacker can compromise additional computers and devices by working from the point of entry and out laterally.
  5. Data Identification: The point of gaining entry through an APT point is to identify desired data. In step five, the hacker employs different techniques to pinpoint the data’s location.
  6. Data Harvesting: The data are identified, harvested and extracted. The hacker typically uses tools like encryption to disguise the data being transmitted to external servers that the hacker controls.

Guarding Against APT Threats:

APT threats are an advanced form of hack used to gain access to larger amounts of sensitive data. The process for guarding against APT threats is two-fold. First, identify your system’s vulnerabilities with a thorough IT risk management assessment. Examine how employees communicate, what controls or protections govern access to outside applications or web servers, whether BYOD/BYOC programs are used and how server access monitoring is done to find weak points. Be sure you have the latest versions of antivirus software and software suites installed, because the software’s updates often address known security threats.
Next, use the data collected from the risk management assessment to determine the level of threat your organization faces. Consider installing an enhanced network security product that includes specific controls to stop targeted attacks. You should choose a product that performs these four steps:
  1. Detect: The product should detect even “invisible” threats as well as common threats.
  2. Analyse: The product should instantly perform a full threat analysis to assess risk.
  3. Adapt: The product should act quickly to send alerts, in addition to blocking known and new risks.
  4. Respond: The product should deliver detailed information about each attack incident.
By understanding how hackers attack through APT entry points, it’s possible to threat-proof your infrastructure against security breaches.

How to Speed Up a PC-Tips to Increase Windows Performance

How to Speed Up a PC-Tips to Increase Windows Performance

speed+up+windows
Microsoft windows operating system has been designed to deliver better speeds.Especially Windows 8 is far better than its predecessor. However, as time passes ,the laptop/PC might tend to get slower. There might be many reasons behind slow PC performance but you can optimize the speed with some simple tweaks and using few software's that clean your PC to increase its speed.

PC’s performance will slow down at 3 Instances:

Removing unwanted Startup Applications:

Sometimes even after the pc starts, few programs keeps on loading thereby stopping you from performing your operations. In some cases, you might come across a strange WINDOWS error known as “Blue Screen Of death”.To avoid this you have to limit the number of startup programs.Lesser the number of startup programs greater will be the pc startup speed.
  •  Press” Windows key + R”(shortcut key for RUN)

Temporary Files and Folders
  • It will take you to a Folder where all the Temporary files are stored. Select and delete all the files. You may not delete all the files there, just skip those files which are undeletable.
  • Disk Clean Up:

Disk+cleanup+windowsDisk cleaning will delete all your temporary files from any drive of your Disk. Here is the Procedure
    Press” Windows key + R”.
Type “cleanmgr” (without Quotes) and hit enter.
Select the particular Disk that you want to Clean and click on “OK” and now you can delete all the temporary files. Repeat the same procedure for all the drives and it will really free some amount of memory in every drive.

    Defragment Disk:

For Defragmenting the Disk follow the steps below:
    1. Right click on any drive and select PROPERTIES
    2. Click on TOOLS and select DEFRAGMENT NOW
    3. ANALYSE the dick first and then DEFRAGMENT it.

    Delete ”Old Windows” Files:

Normally your files of OLD version of windows can be removed easily using DISK CLEAN UP. So you can follow the same procedure to delete the files of OLD WINDOWS

    Reduce Files on Desktop:

Move all the files on your Desktop to any other separate drive.Every shorcut on desktop consumes 20kb of your RAM.If there are too many shortcuts then it is definitely going to effect the performance speed of your computer. You can use shortcuts on the desktop for easy navigation (Shortcuts are less in memory).

    Using Proper Cooling System:

    Cooling+system+CPU

Make sure that your Cooling fans are working fine. Try to clean the Dust from the surface of the fans to make it work properly. Provide good ventilation for PC’s and try to maintain the room cool so that Pc can perform better.

    Removing Visual Effects:

Follow the steps below to disable unwanted Visual effects
    1. Go to CONTROL PANEL > SYSTEM AND SECURITY > SYSTEM >ADVANCED SYSTEM SETTINGS ( A box will pop up)
    2.  Click on SETTINGS of PERFORMANCE section.
    3. There check all the visual effects and remove those which are not need for your and save those settings

    Deleting Internet Cache

There are many software’s available on internet to Delete internet cache but, CC Cleaner is the free software and its very effect in deleting the file temporary files.

Use Revo Uninstaller to uninstall programs:

Completely uninstall programs and applications using a program like Revo Uninstaller. It will get rid of registries left behind by normal uninstalls.

    Repairing Registry Files:

There are many Good software’s available on internet to fix all your registry errors. You can pick anyone of them. I will suggest you to use TUNE UP UTILITIES as it perform better than much other software.

    Using Ready Boost:

    ready+boost

Connect a USB stick to a Windows computer – even on Windows 8 – and it will ask if you want to speed up your system using ReadyBoost. ReadyBoost was introduced in Windows Vista, where it was a heavily promoted feature.

    Upgrade your Hardware:

Last but very important thing is to upgrade your hardwares. If you are still using old hardwares then its time for you to replace then to boost pc speed.
